The End of the Line

Feb 2009: As the new exhibition opens at MIMA, we look back over the work that's gone into the change over.

Having seen MIMA stripped bare of its previous exhibition, finally being ready to show the world its new display is clearly a relief for the staff that worked tirelessly to create the exhibitions we take for granted when we visit the gallery.

The eleven days it takes to change one exhibition into another is jam packed, find more about the hard work that goes into it here:

The new exhibition has taken days to go up, and is a real "something for everyone" display.

Starting in the Cube gallery, there's something a bit out of the ordinary greeting you as the first piece of art.

Following around the rest of the galleries there's lots of bright and vibrant work, including a life in a box, a projection in the room inside a room, and one artist in particular, Garrett Phelan's work: "Battle for the Birds".

"The End of the Line" exhibit aims to present new or recent works by eleven highly acclaimed international artists, whose work has not been shown extensively in the UK.

It will run from 27th February until 10th May 2009 on the ground floor galleries.
