Watch now: Young Reporter Live Lesson

Ever wondered what skills you鈥檒l need to take on a career in journalism?

Look no further! This 30-minute Live Lesson for 11 to 14 year olds, based around the Young Reporter project, will introduce you to writing for a range of purposes and audiences, and how to enhance the impact of your writing through storytelling.

Tying into key curriculum objectives for English around non-narrative writing, this lesson invites students from all across the UK to participate and create their own unique pieces of writing, whilst we speak to journalists across the 91热爆 and get their advice for writing pieces including a news report and a review. Hosted by Newsround's Martin Dougan and Educating Yorkshire and Bitesize Daily's Mr Burton and joined by Radio 1's Roisin Hastie and Ali Plumb, the lesson was made available on the morning of Wednesday, 10th March 2021.

Students will be taught to consider the topic, audience and purpose of their writing, and learn about some key conventions and features of different text types.
