The things you see and hear online can sometimes hurt your feelings, confuse you, or make you unhappy in your daily life. It always helps to be cautious with who you鈥檙e interacting with online.

Here are two quick things you can do right away:

  • Check your privacy settings
  • Block and report

Privacy settings allow you to monitor who can contact you in the digital world. Make sure that you鈥檙e in control of who can comment on your posts and send you messages via inbox.

You should never have to put up with bullying, either online or in real life. So if you do ever see a mean comment, it鈥檚 always best to block and report.

Who should I speak to?

Talking about your thoughts and feelings with friends and family can really help! If you or one of your friends is struggling with bullying behaviour online, talk to a trusted adult.

Bullying can lead to severe mental illnesses and sometimes even suicidal thoughts and substance abuse. Don't suffer alone. Talk to a mental health professional.
