The Super Kangaroos

Year 3099 !!

All the way over on the other side of the world in Australia there was a herd of Kangaroos. One of the joeys was called Ruby. She loved jumping around with her friend Lucy.

One day the herd were going to their waterhole. At mid-day, the sun was so hot that they decided to take a break at Uluru (a massive rock in the middle of Australia). There Ruby and Lucy found a strange plant with blue leaves. They ate it, it tasted a bit weird. Later that afternoon at Uluru, they were trying to see who could jump the highest. They ended up in a tie. They decided to do a tie breaker. They put on their crash helmets and jumped with all their strength. They jumped so high that they couldn't even see the ground and they went higher and higher !!!

After about 30 mins they landed, but not in Australia !!!

Lucy said "I think we are on the moon."

As they haven't been to the moon before they started exploring. After a few minutes Ruby found a ginormous hole and they jumped in. It was weird inside. There were lots of strange plants in there. They heard some strange noises. Although Lucy was smart, she couldn't figure out what they were. Ruby was curious and followed the voices and Lucy had no choice but to follow after her.

They found out what the voices were in fact … lost astronauts !!! Their names were Ben and Zen. They were from Germany. They had gathered plants from each continent and to their surprise had grown quite well. But before they could return back to earth, their rocket got damaged. Lucy asked Ben if he and Zen wanted to come back home with them. "Of course" said Ben in his German accent. "Okay, hop on then" said Lucy. Ben and Zen climbed on Lucy and Ruby's backs. Lucy and Ruby jumped. But when they landed they were still on the moon. They got worried and jumped again, but they only landed on the moon.

Suddenly Lucy remembered the strange plant they had eaten back at Uluru and told Zen about it. Zen said they could look in their plant collection in the hole to see if those plants are there. They started searching through their little garden in the hole and suddenly Ruby shouted out to Lucy "it's here, it's here!!! They both ate it. Ben and Zen again got on their backs and they jumped again with all their strength, they went higher and higher and they could no longer see the moon. After some time they landed, and they were back on Uluru!!!

Ruby and Lucy introduced their new friends to the herd and found them a new home.

Before they knew it, they were world famous. But soon they had to say goodbye to their new friends. "See you around" said Lucy and with one last jump they were gone!!! Ruby and Lucy were named Super Kangaroos of Uluru!!
