He's spent and month in the house and now he can concentrate on trying to make Britain's boxing team for the Beijing Olympics. The 91热爆's Guy Campbell previews the Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack series:
Help playing audio/video The Big Brother with a twist started on Thursday 3 January. The 12 houseguests were all young people picked for their 'talent and brains' as opposed to the usual fame-hungry wannabees. A host of guest celebrities 'hijack' controlled the house and issued the guests/inmates with tasks etc. The slebs included Little Britain's Matt Lucas, Sex Pistols' svengali Malcolm McLaren, footballer-turned-pundit Ian Wright, comedians Jimmy Carr and Joan Rivers, plummy-voiced art critic Brian Sewell and artists Jake & Dinos Chapman. It started on Channel 4 and then moved to E4 for the rest of the run. At the end of January, the viewers voted for their favourite and the winner was 20 year old John Laughton, who's the chairman of the Scottish Youth Parliament. Final voteJohn Laughton: 53.9% Wake me up before y'OgogoAnthony's sister Toni Ogogo knew her brother was going into the house, but she was sworn to secrecy until the names of the Big Brother houseguests were announced. She said he could struggle: "He can be a bit lazy. Hopefully, he'll do well though. "He's got the right personality to do well in the house. He's taken a few training props with him, including his skipping rope, so hopefully they won't take that away from him!" A bit of historyAnthony Ogogo won gold at the Junior Olympics in 2004, and he kept that going a year later. In 2005, he won gold at the听 IABA Cadet World Championships at the 70kg weight by beating Ruslan Derbenev of Russia in the final. Ogogo at his Lowestoft gym A 1,000-plus capacity crowd, which included Amir Khan and former middleweight world champion Julian Jackson, watched the bout at the St George's Hall in Liverpool. Ogogo faced a strong opponent in Derbenev. The first round ended with both light-middleweights seeking to physically impress themselves on each other which resulted in a low-scoring advantage to Ogogo at 4-3. In Round Two, a now-bloodied Ogogo started to relax and find a rhythm with his jab which consistently put Derbenev on the back foot. Leading 10-6 going into the final round and with his opponent seeking bigger shots for a knockout, Ogogo cleverly opted to keep his distance sticking behind his jab and using the full area of the ring. Help playing audio/video At the bell Ogogo finally did hit the floor - but only to bang his fists on the canvas with the joy of victory. At the time the England manager Kevin Smith said: ''I'm overjoyed. Being in your own country you want to do well. We worked extremely hard to at least register a medal. To get four and two of them gold is pure heaven. To be rubbing shoulders with the Russians and Cubans has been a fantastic experience and will benefit everyone who has been in Liverpool this week. The foundations are there now to produce future Olympic champions with London our big goal.'' Gold going to Ogogo?Anthony went to Kirkley High in Lowestoft - the same school that The Darkness went to. It was also the setting for Channel 4's Rock School with Gene Simmons which produced Lil' Chris and The Upraw. His boxing club is the Triple A in Lowestoft and when he's not in the Big Brother house he can been seen out running along the town's beach. Ogogo now boxes under the nickname "Beautiful Brown Suga" and Channel 4's publicity blurb says he apparently dreams of becoming the first mixed-race James Bond! Anthony's immediate aim is to qualify for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 - that's if he gets out of the Big Brother house with his mind, reputation and fitness intact! The winner of BB got a 拢50,000 prize. last updated: 29/01/2008 at 10:56 Have Your SayHas Anthony Ogogo got what it takes for the Olympics or Big Brother?
