British and Commonwealth featherweight champion Lee Selby has targeted a world title as he prepares for his bout against unbeaten Joel Brunker.

Selby takes on Australian Brunker at the O2 Arena on Saturday in a final eliminator to face IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich.

Welshman Selby, 27, vacated his European featherweight title to clear the way for a shot at a world title.

"That's what I am in the game for, to become a world champion," Selby said.

"IBF, WBC, it doesn't matter to me which one I win.

"They are all World titles and these days no one title is outstanding, they are all important and valuable."

Selby stayed on course for a world title fight after outpointing Romulo Koasicha in their WBC International title eliminator in May.

Brunker, 28, is undefeated in his 27 fights and Selby sparred with the Australian in Floyd Mayweather's Las Vegas gym two years ago.

"Joel is a tough customer, he has power in both hands and is the real deal so this is the time for me to prove I can get to the top and stay there," Selby said.

"I believe that on my day I can beat anyone.

"If I can take my best into the ring, I don't think there's a featherweight out there that can live with me.

"This is the one to see if I really am a good fighter or I'm over-hyped like some people have been saying."
