Heather Watson says she and Katie Boulter are happy with their performance at the 2024 Olympics after losing in the women's doubles quarter-finals.
The Britons lost 6-3 6-1 to Italian third seeds Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini at Roland Garros.
It means Guernsey's Watson bids farewell to her fourth Olympics after bowing out of the mixed doubles with Joe Salisbury earlier in the week.
"We've played such great tennis all week and we've enjoyed doing it," Watson told 91热爆 Sport after the loss.
"Of course we wanted to win today, but we gave our best and we're walking off the court with our heads held high.
"We lost to a great established pair who could get a gold medal here and were favourites going in."
Boulter, who was playing in her first Olympics, joked the duo should start playing doubles in 2027 to get ready for the next games in Los Angeles in four years' time.
While Watson, 32, did not commit to another Olympic cycle she did pay tribute to her partner after matching her best ever Olympic performance when she reached the last eight of the mixed doubles in 2016 with Andy Murray.
"After each match we were just saying how we feel really comfortable with each other on court," Watson said.
"We're both really positive towards each other which therefore makes a great team and I think it brings the best out of us."
