Harlequins vice-captain Cadan Murley has signed a new contract with the Premiership club.

The 25-year-old winger has scored 53 tries in 117 appearances since making his Quins debut in 2018.

He was part of the squad that won the Premiership title in 2021, starting in the 40-38 final victory over Exeter Chiefs at Twickenham, and was the league's top try scorer in 2022-23 with 15.

Murley missed the start of this season with injury but has played the full 80 minutes in each of the club's last three Premiership games, scoring his first try in their 36-19 win at Exeter before the league's November break.

"It's been a special year so far having led the team out [as captain] at the club I have supported since I was a little boy - every time I step out at The Stoop the fans are unbelievable," Murley told the Harlequins

"Getting back from injury was a massive moment already this year, and to have three 80 minutes under my belt is great.

"The depth we have throughout the team is something we haven't had in previous years, so I'm excited to see where it can take us this season and beyond."

Murley was named vice-captain in the summer after Alex Dombrandt replaced Stephan Lewies as club captain.

Quins have not specified the length of the new deal.

Harlequins missed out on the play-offs last term after heavy defeats at Exeter and at home to Bristol Bears on the final day of the season, having reached the Europeans Champions Cup semi-finals for the first time in their history.

The Twickenham club have had a mixed start to this season, with three victories and three defeats from their first six games, though they did end their 1,723-day wait to beat London rivals Saracens with a 17-10 victory at The Stoop - Murley's first game of the season.

They face Sarries again later this month in the Premiership Rugby Cup at StoneX Stadium, before returning returning to Premiership action against Bristol on Friday, 29 November.

"I've still got lots to learn and there are things that I still want to achieve in my career. But I know Harlequins is the place for me to do that with the coaching group we have," Murley added.
