Wales scrum-half Rhys Webb hopes to renew his national dual contract with Ospreys, despite offers from English and French clubs.

Webb's current deal, signed in March, expires at the end of this season.

Despite interest from foreign clubs, 91�ȱ� Wales Sport has learned the 26-year-old is eager to stay.

Webb has opened talks with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and Ospreys with a view to concluding a deal before the New Year.

He missed the World Cup with a serious foot injury, but could make a return to full fitness by the end of January 2016.

His half-back partner at regional and international level, Dan Biggar, became the first Welsh player to renew his dual contract on 4 December.

The fly-half, 26, said he hoped his decision would encourage others to do the same, and Webb is believed to be ready to follow his lead.

Wales have 17 dually-contracted players and another of those whose current deal expires at the end of this season is Ospreys captain Alun Wyn Jones.

The British and Irish Lions lock has said he is "weighing up" his options.

Dual contracts are 60% funded by the WRU and 40% by the regions.
