Garry Monk: Swansea chairman and manager have 'chat'
- Published
Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says he has had a "usual chat" with under-pressure manager Garry Monk.
Monk's side have won just one of their last 11 games and, after Saturday's 3-0 loss to Leicester City, one bookmaker has stopped taking bets on him being the next top-flight boss to be sacked.
But Jenkins told 91热爆 Wales Sport that there would be "no" announcement on Monk's future at the club on Monday.
He also confirmed the Swansea players would return to training on Tuesday.
Ex-Wales striker, and Swans fan John Hartson: |

One of the quotes I liked from Garry is they've got to get back to hard work, and that can only been done on the training ground. You can only do so much as a manager, but ultimately the players have to perform and if he's not getting that then he needs to get rid of those players because if you've got poison in the dressing room it's no good. He needs players in that are on board. Garry needs to find that and quickly. |
Monk, 36, led the Swans to eighth place last season, their highest Premier League finish in his first full campaign.
But recent results have caused concern, prompting the Swansea board to consider Monk's position.
After leaders Leicester's win at the Liberty Stadium, former Wales striker Ian Walsh said Monk sounded "like a beaten man".
Swansea travel to third-placed Manchester City on Saturday, 12 December.
