Bryan Redpath says it is "down to business" for Sale as they prepare for their first competitive match at their new home against Saracens on Saturday.

It has been a summer of change, with Redpath arriving as director of rugby and the club relocating from Edgeley Park to the Salford City Stadium.

"There's been a lot of talk but it's now down to business," said Redpath.

"For us, it's more important that we get to understand about the pitch and make it a difficult place to come."

The former Scotland scrum-half continued: "It's important we understand that the developments are getting done around the club, and my responsibility now is to get us playing with the right element of passion and knowledge of the game to win a match."

The Sharks, who gave debuts to new signings Danny Cipriani and Richie Gray, began the new Premiership season with a 43-6 defeat at Exeter.

"It was certainly a wake-up call," added Redpath, who left Gloucester in April and took over at Sale in June. "The previous warm-up matches hadn't gone like that.

"In the first half, we actually played reasonably well but we just didn't control our ball enough. We lost too many set-pieces, then got a little bit anxious and it went from bad to worse.

"These things happen, it was a good kick in the back side for us all. We need to knuckle down and concentrate on this weekend, without forgetting about last week."

The Sharks will face a tough task to get their Salford City Stadium record started with a win as Saracens arrive off the back of a thumping 40-3 victory over London Irish at Twickenham.
