Warrington sign forward Bateman on short-term deal

Warrington Wolves have signed second-row John Bateman from NRL side Wests Tigers on loan for the remainder of the 2024 season.
The 30-year-old England international began his career at hometown club Bradford Bulls before moving to Wigan Warriors in 2014 where he won two Super League titles and was named the club's player of the year three times.
Following stints at Canberra Raiders, and then a return to Wigan in 2021, Bateman joined Sydney-based Wests Tigers last year.
"I've been involved in the big games throughout my career and hopefully I can bring that experience and know-how at this stage of the season," Bateman
Bateman has appeared 28 times for England and Great Britain, scoring nine tries.
He is set to make his debut for the Wire against Hull KR on 2 August.
