Adrian Morley: Warrington captain 'fresh' for Super League climax

Adrian Morley has insisted he is fully fit after three months out with a torn bicep and is ready to spearhead Warrington's charge for honours.

The veteran prop was out with a neck problem in 2012, but returned to lead the Wire to Challenge Cup success and a first Grand Final appearance.

The 36-year-old told 91热爆 North West Sport: "I'm feeling really fresh.

"It's been frustrating, but I think it's worked in my favour. Hopefully it will be beneficial in the long run."

Speaking ahead of Warrington's Magic Weekend fixture against local rivals St Helens on Saturday, Morley continued: "You've got to take the positives from every situation, and although I'd love to play every week, unfortunately injuries are part of our sport.

"I've virtually missed half of the season, so theoretically I'll be extremely fresh for the second half."

Morley , external in Warrington's third Super League match of the season - a 24-16 win against Catalan Dragons on 15 February.

He had surgery to repair the injury and returned to action for Championship side Swinton Lions on Sunday, having missed out on a place in Tony Smith's 17-man squad for the Super League defeat by Hull FC two days earlier.

Morley, capped 30 times by Great Britain and a further 23 by England, is expected to feature at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend as the Wolves aim to bridge a six-point gap to leaders Wigan Warriors at the top of the table.

It is the second time that Magic Weekend, which features all 14 Super League clubs playing at the same venue, has been staged at the home of Manchester City.

Morley expects close Saints contest

, external but Morley expects a much closer affair against Saints, who defeated reigning champions Leeds at Headingley in their last outing.

"I really enjoyed the experience last year. It's a fantastic stadium," added Morley, a Manchester United fan.

"The whole concept is a fantastic idea and we want it to be the biggest on record.

"We're playing our big rivals and, in terms of opposition, I think this is the toughest test we've had in the Magic Weekend. It's going to be a tough one, but hopefully an exciting one."
