Brian McGuigan gets sent off aganist Kerry

Tyrone's Brian McGuigan has apologised for his straight red card in the county's All-Ireland qualifier defeat to Kerry in Killarney on Saturday.

The 32-year-old was sent-off less than 90 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute for a rash elbow into the back of Kerry's Declan O'Sullivan.

McGuigan reacted to a high tackle on him by O'Sullivan but has said sorry to followers on his Twitter account.

"Apologies. Sending off was harsh but stupid of me to get involved."

Tyrone were already six points down, 1-12 to 1-6, when McGuigan seen red. Tyrone went on to lose by a record 10 points in their first championship defeat to the Kingdom since the 1986 All-Ireland final.

McGuigan also congratulated the Tyrone minors, who won the Ulster Minor Football title on Sunday with a 0-14 to 1-8 victory over Monaghan at Clones.
