Alastair Seeley wins Irish Motorcyclist of the Year award

Alastair Seeley has been named Enkalon Irish Motorcyclist of the Year at the Adelaide Motorcycle Awards.

The British Supersport champion saw off the challenge of road racer Michael Dunlop and World Superbike star Eugene Laverty to win the public vote.

Tyco TAS Suzuki rider Seeley was presented with the Joey Dunlop Trophy in Belfast on Friday night.

Dunlop was named Road Racer of the Year, Laverty top short circuit racer and TAS Suzuki were Team of the Year.

Steven Cull was inducted into the Hall of Fame and John Simpson scooped the Young Rider of the Year award.

Ryan Farquhar collected the Duke Road Race Rankings trophy and Michael Rutter received an International Achievement Award in recognition of his successes at the Macau Grand Prix and North West 200.

Keith Farmer and Andrew Brady won Merit Awards, Alastair Seeley Race of the Tear and Martin Barr was chosen as Off-Road Rider of the Year.

British Superbike champion Tommy Hill was the special guest and he was presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award.
