The Belfast Giants have moved to bolster their roster by signing American defenceman Chad Langlais.

Langlais will arrive in Belfast on Tuesday and is expected to go straight into the line-up for Graeme Walton's testimonial on Tuesday and Wednesday's Challenge Cup semi-final first leg.

The Giants travel to face Nottingham in the first instalment of the tie.

"I'm excited to be part of a team that is competing for all possible trophies," said Langlais.

"The serious injuries to both Sam Roberts and Will Colbert have left us very short in numbers of defencemen," explained Giants coach Doug Christiansen.

"There is no doubt that bringing in a player like Chad helps us as he is a player who is creative with the puck and can help on the powerplay.

"Having played at Michigan, he knows what it takes to win and I am looking forward to bringing him to Belfast."
