Midfielder Curtis Edwards has joined Notts County after he turned down the offer of a new deal with National League side Woking.

The 30-year-old spent the final three months of last season with Woking, making 17 league appearances following his return to the English game after nine years playing in Scandinavia.

He came through Middlesbrough's youth teams and left for Sweden in 2015, where he went on to play for Ostersund under fellow Englishman Graham Potter, and Djurgarden before moving on to Norway where he featured for Stabaek.

“Over the many years he spent in Scandinavia, he established himself as a strong performer at a very high level – and he continued to show his immense quality at Woking earlier this year," said Notts board member Richard Montague, who leads on the club's recruitment.

“He can play in various midfield roles, which gives us more flexibility and depth, and is a fantastic technician who’s also very hardworking and mobile between both boxes."
