Cefn Druids have announced they will resume in Tier 5 of Welsh football for the forthcoming season.

Druids withdrew from the second tier Cymru North for the 2023-24 season.

The club said it had taken the decision in June 2023 because of a "transfer ban"

Wrexham-based Druids are one of the most historic and significant clubs in Welsh football and played in the Europa League qualifiers in 2012 and 2018.

鈥淭he Druids name is well known and it should never have been in the position it was,鈥 chairman Des Williams said.

鈥淣ow isn鈥檛 the time to settle old scores or name and shame, that will come soon enough, now is the time to look at where we are and where we want to head towards and focus.鈥

In May 2024 the management team and playing staff "collectively" left the club claiming they were still owed money.

Druids chairman Williams responded at the time by saying he was "appalled" by their lack of professionalism and the club was "financially sound".

The club had been relegated from the Cymru Premier in 2022 and in January 2023 Druids were banned from signing players for two transfer windows, after being charged with breaching Fifa transfer guidelines the previous season.

Following a season鈥檚 absence, the club have announced they will return for the 2024-25 campaign and have made a number of key appointments.
