Plymouth Argyle have signed former Watford and Burnley striker Andre Gray on a short-term deal.

The 33-year-old was a free agent having left Saudi Arabian side Al-Riyadh in the summer and will be available for Saturday鈥檚 Championship clash with Blackburn, subject to international clearance.

He has signed until January after Nigerian striker Muhamed Tijani was ruled out until the new year with a hamstring injury.

Jamaica international Gray has scored almost 200 goals in a career that has seen him also have spells at Luton Town, Shrewsbury Town and Brentford.

He scored 25 goals when Burnley won the Championship in 2016 and was sold to Watford for a then-club record fee believed to be around 拢18.5m in August 2017.

He had a spell at Greek side Aris Salonika before moving to Saudi Arabia last year.

"Once we knew the severity of Muhamed鈥檚 injury, we moved quickly to bring in a striker to replace him," Argyle head coach Wayne Rooney

"Andre is a striker of real quality and has played and scored goals at the highest level.

"He will provide competition in forward areas as we head into a busy period of the season, and I am really happy to have him here."
