He is already level with Harry Kane and Thierry Henry, but Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has a chance to make goalscoring history this weekend.

Mullin, 29, needs one goal against League Two champions Stockport County in Saturday's season finale to take him to 25 league goals for the season.

If Mullin achieves the feat, he would become the first player to score 25 or more goals in four consecutive seasons of the top six tiers of English football.

Mullin has already scored in excess of 25 goals in the past three seasons, scoring 32 League Two goals for Cambridge United in their promotion season of 2020-21.

Mullin then scored 28 goals in the National League in his debut season with Wrexham, before firing 38 goals as part of their title win at that level last season.

Having scored 25-plus league goals in three successive seasons, Mullin is in the company of Henry, Kane, Shaun Jeffers, Jordan Rhodes, Danny Rowe and Macaulay Langstaff.

However, one more goal this weekend would see Mullin become the first player to achieve the feat in four successive seasons.

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney says Mullin is a special player.

鈥淲hen you put the work in like Paul does, good things happen," he said.

鈥淗e has inspired millions of people all over the world.

鈥淭he more games this man plays for this club, the bigger this club will continue to get.鈥
