Doncaster Rovers' punishment for late payments cut short after appeal against EFL ruling

Doncaster's punishment for accumulating 30 days or more of late payments has been reduced after their appeal against an English Football League ruling.
The club were given a financial penalty of 拢2,000 and a fee restriction for three transfer windows in late 2023.
Rovers later appealed the decision, stating it was disproportionate.
An independent disciplinary commission ruled the punishment was to stand, but the second and third windows of the punishment have been suspended.
It means the fee restriction will not apply in the August 2024 and January 2025 windows, unless Doncaster breach the rules again.
that "significant changes" had been made to their accounting processes, and that all invoices had been cleared "within one day" of the breach notification.
They also maintained that their January transfer activity was not impacted, and "there are no concerns to be had regarding its current financial state".
The club were sanctioned for late payments during the period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 and will still be required to pay the 拢2,000 fine.
