Watford 0-0 Plymouth Argyle: Hornets and Pilgrims draw entertaining game

Watford and newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle extended their unbeaten starts to the Championship season with an entertaining goalless draw at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets started the stronger, Vakoun Bayo volleying just wide and Imran Louza hitting the outside of the post from range as the hosts looked to dominate as they did in their opening-day win over QPR last weekend.
However, Plymouth proved pluckier opponents and also threatened as Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann looked nervy on the ball and twice presented openings to Ryan Hardie, but the ball would not quite fall for the Scot.
Valerien Ismael's hosts were denied an opener either side of half-time by brilliant last-ditch defending from Dan Scarr, who blocked to thwart both Ryan Andrews and Bayo as the Pilgrims came away with a deserved point.
Argyle's best chance to steal victory came when Adam Randall's close-range shot was kept out by Bachmann, with Joe Edwards' follow-up going narrowly over.
It meant the sides shared a goalless draw for the first time at Vicarage Road, after their previous 30 meetings in Hertfordshire all yielded goals.
It was not for the want of trying, however, with both teams left wondering how this game ended without a breakthrough.
Watford, beaten at League One neighbours Stevenage on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek, are now the only side not to have conceded in the Championship this season, while Plymouth's return to the second tier has also started with four points from two games.
