Martell Taylor-Crossdale's late goal kept Haverfordwest County's Europa Conference League hopes alive despite defeat against B36 Torshavn.

The ex-Fulham and Chelsea youngster scored with 11 minutes left in the second qualifying round second leg in the Faroe Islands.

Hannes Agnarsson had given the hosts the lead.

Andrass Johansen doubled the advantage but Taylor-Crossdale late reply keeps the tie alive for Tony Pennock's men.

County had advanced to the second qualifying round having overturned a 1-0 first leg defeat against Shkendija.

They beat the team from North Macedonia on penalties on a memorable evening a week previously at Cardiff City Stadium with their reward a trip to the Faroe Islands.

County made a nervous start and after Oscar Borg had cleared off the line they went behind on 11 minutes as Torshavn carved open their defence.

A defence splitting ball found Johansen, whose cross was met by Agnarsson, who fired past keeper Zac Jones from close range.

Haverfordwest weathered that storm and grew into the game as the half went on.

Captain Jazz Richards did not reappear for the second half and the home side nearly doubled their lead when Agnarsson struck the crossbar from close range from Frodi Benjaminsen's free-kick.

But Torshavn did go further ahead 10 minutes later as an impressive move saw Bjarke Nielsen pull the ball back for Johansen to coolly fire home.

Unbowed, County responded well although the impressive Kai Whitmore fired his snapshot straight at keeper Mattias Lamhauge.

However their efforts were rewarded late on when substitute Jack Wilson's cross eventually fell kindly for striker Taylor-Crossdale, who finished superbly to ensure County will have a fighting chance in the second leg in a week's time in Cardiff.
