Lewis Bate's superb goal earned a point for Oxford at MK Dons to reward a much-improved second-half performance by the visitors.
The U's finished much the stronger side as they ended a run of four straight defeats and denied the Dons, who remain one point clear of the League One relegation zone, just their third home win of the season.
The hosts were ahead in the 25th minute when Sullay Kaikai was allowed to cut inside from the left before he found the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Having opened his account for his new club, Kaikai should have had his second when he shot wide of an open goal from Tennai Watson's cut-back.
The Dons had another big chance to double their lead early in the second half when Mo Eisa shot at Oxford goalkeeper Simon Eastwood when through on goal.
Their wastefulness came back to haunt them in the 71st minute as Bate drew Oxford level with a wonderful strike from outside the box that flew into the top corner.
