Wales will be without Aaron Ramsey, David Brooks, Tyler Roberts and Ashley Williams for next week's Nations League double-header.

Juventus midfielder Ramsey, Bournemouth winger Brooks and Leeds United striker Roberts are injured, while defender Williams has withdrawn.

Ryan Giggs' side face Finland in Helsinki on Thursday, 3 September and then host Bulgaria three days later.

Ben Woodburn and Brennan Johnson are called up from the Under-21s.

But Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has reported for duty as the Wales squad enter a Covid-19 bubble ahead of their Nations League games.

The absence of 60-cap Ramsey is a huge blow for Giggs. The midfielder scored both goals in Wales' last game - their 2-0 home victory over Hungary last November, which clinched a place in the delayed Euro 2020 finals.

That was his only full appearance during the European qualifying campaign, but Giggs will not want similar during the Nations League.

Brooks, who also missed the autumn games, has an ankle problem and sat out his club's 2-1 friendly defeat by Benfica in Portugal on Sunday. He would have been in contention for a starting spot to earn his 13th cap.

Leeds' Roberts is also missing, while centre-back Williams, who is currently unattached having come to the end of his contract with Bristol City, has pulled out for "personal reasons".

Liverpool's Woodburn and Johnson of Nottingham Forest have been drafted in from the Wales Under-21 squad, who have also been assembling in Cardiff ready for their European qualifier away to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday.

Woodburn, 20, already has 10 caps and two goals under his belt for the senior side and spent last season on loan at Oxford United, featuring in their League One play-off final defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.

Nottingham-born Johnson, 19, is an attacking midfielder who played for the England Under-16s and Under-17s before switching allegiance to Wales and featuring in their Under-19s and 21s. He made four Championship appearances for Forest last season.

Meanwhile, Finland centre-back Paulus Arajuuri has pulled out of their squad to face Wales next week through injury.
