Scott Doe struck in the 89th minute as Dagenham beat Forest Green to move above their National League promotion rivals.
Jordan Maguire-Drew's opener was cancelled out by Christian Doidge but Doe headed home late on to move the Daggers up to second.
Kaiyne Woolery almost gave Rovers a 13th-minute lead but Doe cleared off the line, while Maguire-Drew hit the crossbar at the other end.
Maguire-Drew scored eight minutes into the second half as he tapped in Fejiri Okenabirhie's low cross to give Dagenham the lead.
The hosts held the lead until the 81st minute when former Daggers striker Doidge headed in Liam Noble's cross.
But Dagenham were not to be denied as Doe got on the end of Frankie Raymond's free-kick.
