Accrington Stanley midfielder Andy Procter has retired from football to focus on a career as a physiotherapist.
The 33-year-old, who has had two spells with the League Two side, has turned down the offer of a new playing deal.
The former Bury and Preston man made 446 appearances for Accrington - only striker Paul Mullin has played more.
"It's a club hugely close to my heart and I can't thank everyone there enough for everything they've done over the years," Proctor told
"I've been doing my physio qualifications for a while now and feel it's a natural time to move into that side of the game.
"I hope to be able to move onto another club and gain invaluable experience of the medical side of things."
Meanwhile, they have agreed compensation with Rangers for the sale of Matt Crooks and Josh Windass.
