Gary Sawyer has played 137 times for Plymouth Argyle in two spells

Plymouth Argyle defender Gary Sawyer says he would like to see out his career at 91热爆 Park after earning himself an extended stay with the club.

The 30-year-old full back, who returned to the club in the summer, has played enough games this season to activate an extension clause in his contract.

Sawyer is in his second spell at Argyle having come up through the youth ranks.

"I moved back down here for a reason as I wanted to be at this football club and I want to stay here," he said.

Sawyer has started every League Two game for Argyle this season, having left Leyton Orient in June.

And the former Bristol Rovers defender says the top-of-the-table Pilgrims are capable of continuing their fine and promotion from the fourth-tier of English football as champions.

"It's such a big club and it's really going in the right direction now," he told 91热爆 Radio Devon.

"We have to aim to win the league and everyone at the club wants to win the league, it would be an amazing achievement for us."
