Wales v Kazakhstan: FAW escape fine over anthem blunder
- Published
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has escaped a fine for failing to play Kazakhstan's national anthem before a women's Euro 2017 qualifier.
Uefa, European football's governing body, reprimanded the FAW for only playing the Welsh anthem before Wales women beat Kazakhstan 4-0 in November.
Wales were also given a warning for allowing fans to stand around the Haverfordwest pitch.
The FAW has declined to make any comment.
Wales' victory at the Bridge Meadow Stadium was their only win of the qualifying campaign so far.
On 1 December, they drew 2-2 in Israel to remain third in Group Eight, five points behind leaders Austria.
Jayne Ludlow's side, who next face Kazakhstan away on 12 April, remain two points above fourth-placed Israel, who have a game in hand.
