Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci says he would like to stay at the club beyond the end of his current deal.

The 31-year-old joined the Championship club for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2014 and has scored 15 league goals in 52 games.

The Italian is out of contract at the end of the season.

"I'd like a new deal but it is not my decision. Now I have to play with good quality for the team and wait for the call," he told 91热爆 Radio Leeds.

"I don't worry about it. I am focussed on my work and I don't think about the contract."

The Elland Road side have won their last two matches to move up to 15th in the table.

Antenucci thinks he is benefitting from starting every match since Steve Evans replaced Uwe Rosler last month.

"I am the happiest I have been because I am playing more and that is better for me," he added.

"You can do a lot of things differently because you have more time and opportunities to show your quality."

Leeds face Rotherham, now managed by former head coach Neil Redfearn, on Saturday.
