Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been charged with misconduct after singing offensive songs during Sunday's FA Cup victory parade in London.

The 23-year-old led fans in three chants which mocked Premier League rivals Tottenham. He later apologised.

Wilshere has until 18:00 BST on 10 June to respond to the charge.

He was warned by the FA for a similar outburst after last year's Cup win.

Wilshere took to the microphone during the parade and asked the gathered supporters: "We've got one question. And one question only.

"What do we think of Tottenham? Shit! What do you think of shit? Tottenham! Thank you."

The England international was spoken to by Arsenal staff after this latest incident but the club said they would not be taking action.

"It is alleged his conduct in making and/or inciting certain comments during the club's open bus trophy tour was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute."

Wilshere could now be suspended for the beginning of next season. He sang three anti-Spurs songs on a balcony alongside his team-mates as they celebrated beating Aston Villa 4-0 the previous day.

It was a record-breaking 12th FA Cup win for the Gunners.
