Michael Gardyne's goals helped County stay up this season

Michael Gardyne has formalised a move to Ross County on a two-year contract as Martin Woods finalises a switch away from the Scottish Premiership club.

Forward Gardyne, 29, spent this season on loan at County from Dundee United and the Tangerines confirmed in April he would not be offered a new deal.

Midfielder Martin Woods, 29, will sign for Shrewsbury Town subject to a medical.

Meanwhile, defender Scott Boyd, 28, has agreed a new two-year deal with County.

He and Gardyne have signed up until 2017, having helped the Dingwall side secure their Premiership safety on the penultimate weekend of the league season.

Former Celtic youth player Gardyne previously had two spells with County and has also featured for Greenock Morton and Kilmarnock. He scored six goals this season.

Ex-Livingston player Boyd initially moved to Dingwall on loan from Partick Thistle in 2007 and formalised the move the following year.

County manager Jim McIntyre "Both players have played an important role in the team this season which has helped us achieve our goal and retain our SPFL status."

Woods played for several clubs in England before joining County from Barnsley last summer.

"Martin did a fantastic job for the team and we fully understand his decision to move closer to his family,"

"We would like to wish Martin every success in the future and he leaves the club with our best wishes."
