Swansea City midfielder Jack Cork says his side can be proud of their record-breaking season.

The Swans recorded their highest Premier League finish of eighth place and set a new best points tally of 56.

Cork, 25, who moved to the Liberty Stadium from Southampton in January, says the squad should hold their heads up high.

"Everyone can be really proud of what we've achieved," he said.

"The fans, the staff, the players have put everything into it this season. It's great to be a part of.

"You can tell how much it meant to everyone. It's a great achievement.

"We've broken so many records this season, so everyone can be really proud of how it's gone."

Cork made 128 league and cup appearances for Southampton between 2011 and January 2015, having moved from Chelsea.

The Saints finished four points and one place above the Swans but Cork said it was the right decision to leave St Mary's.

"It got a bit stale for me at Southampton," he said.

"They've [Southampton] had a record-breaking season again and it was tough for me to leave because it felt like my home.

"But to come here [Swansea] and be part of another team that's had a record-breaking season has been amazing."
