Swansea City will maintain their focus until the end of the season even if they set a new record points tally, says captain Ashley Williams.

Swansea's 3-1 win over Hull took them to within a point of their best Premier League points total of 47.

Garry Monk's side have seven games remaining, starting with Everton at home next Saturday.

"Even if we do beat that [total] we need to finish the season strong to go into next season," said Williams, 30.

"It's important that we keep pushing on."

Williams helped Swansea achieve a record Premier League points total of 47 in 2011-2012.

The Swans are now within a point of equalling that feat after victory over relegation-threatened Hull City, their fourth win in six games.

The Wales captain says setting a new points record would be no more than Swansea deserved in Monk's first full season in charge.

"There's no secret that we want to beat that total - and we can do that," Williams said.

"It's in our own hands now and we've worked hard to get this far. We're not going to stop now. We're playing with a bit of confidence.

"I'm pleased with how things have been going this year.

"We're getting different wins with different formations and with different personnel."
