Wales women's boss Jayne Ludlow says their performances at the Istria Cup will help preparations for their Euro 2017 qualifying campaign.

Ludlow's side finished fifth after beating hosts Croatia on penalties.

Wales lost 1-0 to France B and drew 0-0 against Bosnia and Herzegovina before beating Costa Rica 1-0 in the cup.

"We've had some great performances from the girls, so it's been really pleasing to see and to be a part of," said Ludlow.

Wales find out who their Euro 2017 qualifying rivals will be on 13 April.

Before that they take on Slovakia in two friendly matches at Bangor on 6 and 8 April.

Ludlow believes her team has the potential to "achieve great things".

She said "For me being fairly new in the role, the nicest thing has been the fact that the girls have taken on board the strategy we're trying to take forward.

"I'm really looking forward to working with these girls in the future.

"I think we can achieve great things if they're prepared to work as hard going forward as they have this week for me."
