Partick Thistle right-back Stephen O'Donnell has rejected a move to Blackpool despite his club accepting a bid in the region of 拢100,000.

The 22-year-old told the Scottish Premiership club's website: "It wasn't something that came down to money.

"My agent spoke to Blackpool and we decided that it just wasn't the right move for me at this time.

"I am happy where I am just now and I'm incredibly proud every time I pull on the Partick Thistle shirt."

Blackpool had previously failed with an offer of 拢30,000 for O'Donnell, who has been at Firhill since 2011 following his release from Celtic and will be out of contract this summer.

Thistle confirmed on their website that, after discussing personal terms with Blackpool, O'Donnell had decided to remain at Firhill until the end of the season.

Blackpool are currently bottom of the English Championship, nine points behind Rotherham United in 21st place.

"I'm a Partick Thistle player and will be doing everything I can to make sure we finish as far up the table as possible, with top six still a very real possibility," added O'Donnell.

"At this point, I don't know what my future holds, but the one thing I am certain of is that I will give my all for Partick Thistle as long as I am a player at the club."

Jags boss Alan Archibald said earlier this month that he had no intention of selling the defender in January.
