Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has insisted that promotion is still a realistic aim for his side this season, despite a recent dip in form.

Wolves, who were level on points with the league leaders in October, have won just one of their last eight games and currently lie 10th in the Championship.

"We're still in a good, healthy position," Jackett told 91Èȱ¬ WM 95.6

"We were always aiming, and still are aiming, to try to get to the top, and that's still a realistic aim."

After a narrow defeat by Bournemouth - Wolves' fifth defeat in a row - Jackett's side have picked up four points from their last two games.

"I feel that, in the last three games, we've battled," the former Millwall boss continued. "We've won one, lost one and drawn one.

"We've put on better performances. We're obviously really keen to keep improving.

"If the young players keep improving and we can make the right additions from outside the club, we can get a blend and a mix that can be a force in the division.

"We're still within touching distance to do that."

On Boxing Day, Wolves travel to sixth-placed Watford, who Jackett made 337 appearances for during his 10-year, one-club, playing career.

They will then host in-form Brentford at Molineux on 28 December.
