Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman says their superb start to the Championship season has not come as any surprise to the players.

A win at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday could put them top of the table.

"We've played enough of the teams now to know there is nothing to fear and we deserve the position we are in," Surman, 28, told 91热爆 Radio Solent.

"No one expected us to be this high in the league. We did, because we know what we've got here."

Bournemouth are on a run of six consecutive victories, including a record 8-0 league win over Birmingham and the League Cup triumph against Premier League West Brom.

They lie second in the Championship but have a superior goal difference to Watford, who are two points above them.

"It's been unbelievable," said Surman, who once suffered a 5-0 defeat at Wednesday, while at Southampton.

"We are trying to keep our feet on the ground, and not look at what other teams are doing because I think sometimes that could disrupt your run."

He added: "We are just going to concentrate on what we are doing. If we beat Sheffield Wednesday, then it means we have another three points and another three points towards our objective of promotion.

"We are not looking at what everyone else does, that's not important. If we keep winning games, we will be there or thereabouts."
