Nottingham Forest want to sign on-loan defender Jack Hunt but say they cannot meet Crystal Palace's asking price.

Hunt, 23, has played 13 Forest games since signing in August and manager Stuart Pearce is eager to extend the full-back's stay beyond January.

Pearce told 91热爆 Radio Nottingham: "We spoke with Crystal Palace about possibly organising the transfer.

"But the fee we were quoted in the first place has gone up substantially to a level we probably can't afford."

Pearce said the Reds, who are second in the Championship, will continue to talk to see if a deal can be done for Hunt, who is yet to play a first-team game for the Premier League side.
