Scunthorpe United 1-2 Doncaster Rovers

  • Published

Doncaster came from behind to beat Scunthorpe in League One and secured only their second win in seven games.

Paddy Madden went close to firing the hosts ahead before fellow striker Rory Fallon opened their account with a low left-footed drive.

But Doncaster were level six minutes later when captain James Coppinger pounced from close range.

Nathan Tyson netted the winner after the break, finishing in the bottom corner after some poor Iron defending.

Fallon did go close with a second-half header for Scunthorpe but they could not find an equaliser.

It means Russ Wilcox's side have now lost their last three league games and are second from bottom in the table, while Doncaster are 13th.

Scunthorpe United manager Russ Wilcox told 91热爆 Radio Humberside:

"Once again, bottom line - schoolboy errors. The goals against were poor.

Russ Wilcox: Scunthorpe boss after Doncaster loss

"That was a great derby game. A good football game, but again the bottom line is we've come away at the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline.

"We've come off the pitch again defeated and I understand totally the fans' frustrations, but looking at the performance today, I don't think we could have done any better."
