Elliott Durrell's late winner sent Wrexham third in the Conference

Wrexham moved up to third in the Conference as Elliott Durrell's deflected shot earned a late victory over Kidderminster Harriers.

A low 84th-minute shot from the ex-Hednesford Town winger earned Wrexham's second home win in four days.

Both defences had dominated up until the only goal, with home keeper Daniel Bachmann denying Michael Gash.

Louis Moult shot wide when presented with an open goal before Durrell made sure of all three points for the hosts.

Gary Whild's Harriers drop to ninth following their fourth defeat in six matches.

Wrexham manager Kevin Wilkin told 91热爆 Radio Wales:

"It certainly wasn't the prettiest performance but we ground out a result we can share in the joy of.

"If I'm being honest I think a draw would have been a fair result. I don't think we were really at it in the second half.

"But, from a resilience point of view, and people throwing themselves in there and working hard for one another, that was fantastic."

Kidderminster Harriers assistant manager Mark Creighton told 91热爆 Hereford & Worcester:

"We definitely deserved something. I honestly thought that if any team was going to nick it, it would be us.

"The first half was a bit of a stalemate, two good teams cancelling each other out, although it was a bit of a dull affair.

"In the second half Wrexham rarely troubled us and didn't really get into our half. But they've had a shot that's taken a massive deflection."
