Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his Cardiff City side showed the best and the worst of themselves in the 4-2 Championship loss at home to Norwich City.

Joe Ralls and Aron Gunnarsson gave Cardiff a 2-0 lead at half-time.

But the Bluebirds crumbled after the break as Norwich hit four goals.

"It was Jekyll and Hyde stuff. If we went home at half-time you would have thought we were in good form, in the second half you would have thought we were struggling," Solskjaer said.

"You could say it was our best 45 minutes in the first half, and the second was our worst."

Martin Olsson started the comeback for the Canaries and Wes Hoolahan equalised from a rebound four minutes later.

Michael Turner put Norwich ahead and ex-Bluebirds striker Cameron Jerome scored a late breakaway to seal a miserable afternoon for Cardiff, who dropped to 15th in the table.

"We stopped winning first, second balls, we never moved our feet quick enough, just those little things that make a big difference," Solskjaer said.

"The Championship is about consistency and you've got to consistently go out there and perform, even though you might not feel like it.

"You might be tired but you've got to do the little things right."

Cardiff are back in action on Tuesday night when Middlesbrough are the visitors in the league and Solskjaer is glad of the quick turnaround.

"Luckily we've got a game on Tuesday, that's the big plus being in the Championship, you've only got a couple of days turnaround and you've got to perform again," added the Norwegian.

"It's massive because the last three games now we've only got one point and at home we should pick up points against all the teams."
