Newport County have signed Charlton Athletic's Joe Pigott on loan.

The 20-year-old striker has agreed a deal at Rodney Parade until mid-November.

Exiles manager Justin Edinburgh "We looked at Joe last year but unfortunately he went on loan to Gillingham.

"Joe is an exciting prospect and with Rene [Howe] being out until gone Christmas time he will add to this area of the team."

Pigott scored one goal in four starts for the Gills during his loan spell at the Priestfield Stadium in 2013-14.

County's next match is at home against Northampton Town on Saturday 13 September.
