Ross McCormack scored his first goal for Fulham since joining from Leeds.

Fulham's 拢11m striker Ross McCormack eased the pressure on manager Felix Magath with his first goal for the club in a Capital One Cup win at Brentford.

The Scot had failed to fire since joining from Leeds in July, as had Fulham, who went into this match off the back of four Championship defeats.

However, the 28-year-old latched onto Chris David's defence-splitting pass to secure Fulham's first win this season.

Owner Shahid Khan had given his backing to under-fire Magath before kick off.

The Cottagers are currently rooted to the bottom of the table and will be hoping their West London derby win can provide a platform to push on in the league.

Fulham manager Magath said: "I am very pleased for him [McCormack] because that goal will give him confidence and the win will give us confidence for the future.

"We dominated parts of the game and it was a very good performance.

"Without results I cannot feel relaxed and without goals we don't have confidence, so it is a good night."

Fulham entertain League One Doncaster in the third round.
