Tony McMahon: Blackpool defender signs new contract

Blackpool defender Tony McMahon had agreed a new one-year contract at the Championship club, with the option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
McMahon, 28, made 18 appearances for the Seasiders in the second half of last season after joining from Sheffield United in January.
He had initially signed on loan and made a permanent switch to Bloomfield Road shortly afterwards.
"I enjoyed my time last season. I'd like to think I did well," he said.
"I did have an offer from another club in The Championship but I chose Blackpool," the former Middlesbrough full-back told the club website.
McMahon is the first player to agree new terms since Jose Riga was appointed as manager of Blackpool, who narrowly avoided relegation last season.
He continued: "The manager has got a clean slate, which is probably an ideal situation for any manager.
"He can go and sign the players he wants to sign and he won't be stuck with players that he doesn't want.
"I'm just pleased that he's identified me as part of his plans for the future of Blackpool."
