Brad Inman's late goal earned Crewe a vital win at Crawley to aid their fight to beat the drop from League One.
Uche Ikpeazu finished from close range for Crewe, after Paul Jones parried Mathias Pogba's shot into his path.
Crawley then levelled on 69 minutes when Jamie Proctor found the top corner with an angled, long-range drive.
Substitute Inman won it 10 minutes from time, steering in Byron Moore's pass, keeping 21st-placed Crewe in the bottom four now only on goal difference.
Crawley Town boss John Gregory told 91热爆 Sussex:
"When we got back to 1-1 there was only going to one winner and would have actually settled for a point at that stage.
"It's game after game for us and we've tried to mix it up. I thought Gary Dicker and Sergio Torres were probably our two best players because they came in very fresh.
"It's probably the amount of games which has started to tell on one or two. They're not quite as fresh as they have been, like when we played Wolves, which is barely three weeks ago. And we've not won since then.
"It doesn't disguise the fact that we haven't scored enough and have found ourselves defeated in the last five games, which is a huge shock to me."
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis told 91热爆 Radio Stoke:
"I was delighted for Brad that he has come on and got his goal. He was left out simply because I didn't think he has done enough in the past few games. I chose to leave him out and got the reaction I wanted.
"I knew not playing would hurt him. We thought that, with his pace, he could get in behind. It was a great pass and he did exactly what we wanted him to do.
"We dug in when we needed to and it is a great three points. We will keep fighting and just look after ourselves.
"f we can get our results then the rest will look after itself. We know what we have to do and not worry too much about the others."
