Peterborough United 3-0 Tranmere Rovers

  • Published

Nicky Ajose's first goal for Peterborough since joining over two years ago helped Posh beat Tranmere.

Britt Assombalonga's penalty - after the striker was fouled in the box - put Posh ahead before Ajose, recently back after a loan spell, doubled the lead from Danny Swanson's delivery.

Top scorer Assombalonga then notched his 20th of the season late on after being teed up by Ajose.

Matthew Kennedy came closest for Rovers with the score 1-0, hitting the post.

It was Posh's first points of 2014 as Rovers stay in relegation trouble.
