Ross County: Ivan Sproule leaves club for 'personal reasons'

Winger Ivan Sproule has left Scottish Premiership outfit Ross County with immediate effect.

The Dingwall club say they agreed to terminate the 32-year-old's former Bristol City man's contract for personal and family reasons.

It means that his final appearance was in a 2-1 defeat by St Mirren on 17 November, when he was sent off.

Sproule, who joined from Hibernian on an 18-month deal in January, intends to return to his native Northern Ireland.

The winger was praised by manager Derek Adams after scoring twice on his County debut in a 4-1 win over St Mirren.

Sproule, who moved to Easter Road as an amateur from Northern Irish club Institute in 2005, joined Bristol City for 拢500,000 two years later.

He returned to Hibernian in 2011 for a second spell in the Scottish capital.

Sproule made 11 appearances for County this season, scoring twice, but his last act for Adams's side was to be one of two players shown a red card at St Mirren Park.

The Northern Irishman was dismissed for a dangerous high challenge on Marc McAusland before team-mate Steven Saunders was also sent off.

Sproule would have been unable to play against Hibernian in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup at Victoria Park on Saturday as he is suspended.
