Courtney Meppen-Walter: Carlisle sign ex-Man City defender

Carlisle have completed the signing of Courtney Meppen-Walter on a one-month deal following a successful trial.
The ex-Manchester City defender, 19, has been training with the Cumbrians since being released from prison.
In February, he was sentenced to 16 months in jail following a road traffic collision which led to two fatalities.
He is manager Graham Kavanagh's third permanent addition since taking over at Brunton Park, joining Prince Buaben and Pascal Chimbonda in the Carlisle squad.
"Courtney has kept his head down since he joined us and we now want to give him the chance to play," said Kavanagh.
"It isn't cut and dried that he will be with us long term at all, but he has worked hard and has improved every day.
"This gives him the opportunity to step things up a little bit and we'll continue to work hard with him."
