Crawley Town striker Gary Alexander hopes they will be able to maintain the standards of their recent performances in League One.

The Reds won 2-0 away to Peterborough on Saturday after being narrowly beaten 2-1 at Wolves the week before.

"We don't need to fear anyone. We have gone to Wolves and Peterborough and put in two great performances.

"We have set our level now and hopefully we won't let that drop," the 34-year-old told 91热爆 Sussex.

"A couple of results haven't gone our way, but the gaffer [Richie Barker] won't change his philosophy.

"He wants to play football, that's what he has installed in us and it is starting to show."

Alexander scored both goals in the victory over Peterborough, but was just as pleased with the clean sheet as his own efforts.

"It was our first clean sheet of the season, and what a place to go and get it," he said.

"We said before the game what a boost in confidence that would be.

"Playing at Peterborough you expect to come under pressure. They scored 11 goals in two games, so to get our first clean sheet there shows the standards we set ourselves.

"We have to really kick on from here."

Alexander's double took his goal tally to three in six appearances this season and the veteran has re-iterated his commitment to the West Sussex club after ending last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon.

"I am here and and not going to sit here, let it pass me by and not try and get in the team," he said.

"We have got four strikers here and, as I am getting older now, if I can help them in any way then hopefully I can.

"I want to be playing as well and if if I am not I will be disappointed, but I will battle on and try and get the shirt back if I lose it.

"It's about how I am feeling. I was probably a little bit burnt out last year as we weren't that strong in the forward department.

"It was probably only me and Billy [Clarke] playing every game and that becomes hard work as you get older.

"Hopefully, I can stay as fresh as I can as Saturday-Tuesday games are hard."
